“Oggi ho ricevuto ufficialmente  qui a Toronto, nella odierna sessione dei lavori della Convention, la notizia attesa: il Kiwanis International ha proclamato il nostro Distretto Distinto per l’anno scorso 2014-15 Centennial Year, investendomi del Distinguished District Governor Honor.

Solo 4 Distretti Distinti nel mondo l’anno scorso! Alle 9,30 noi 4 Governatori siamo stati chiamati sul palco della Assemblea Generale dinanzi a 2000 circa delegati da tutto il mondo, che applaudivano: veramente emozionante!

Un successo mondiale che desidero condividere con tutti gli amici del Distretto che l’anno scorso hanno dato il massimo.

Candidate K.I. Trustee for Europe

NOTA UFFICIALE DI RINGRAZIAMENTO

Carissimi amici kiwaniani,

la Convention europea in Villach ha consumato i suoi riti e mi fa piacere offrirvi alcune sensazioni e darvi il mio punto di vista sulla esperienza vissuta da protagonista pur non avendo raggiunto, stavolta, l’elezione a Trustee internazionale. Sapevamo di giocare “fuori casa”, ciononostante abbiamo avuto un grande e inatteso consenso.
Non ce l’ho fatta per soli 10 voti,  un vero peccato!
Comunque un buon risultato per me e per il nostro Distretto: mi ha particolarmente gratificato aver ottenuto consensi da altri delegati europei ben oltre il nostro gruppo di delegati, partendo da outsider in mezzo ai 2 affermati e ben sostenuti “big” plurititolati.
Ritengo a ragion veduta che la visibilità e l’esperienza acquisita potranno essere un buon punto di partenza per la prossima volta.
Mi corre l’obbligo di ringraziare il Distretto e quanti mi hanno voluto realmente e lealmente dare una mano sia con la presenza a Villach sia con il sostegno testimoniato da messaggi, email e telefonate che mi hanno fatto sentire sempre vicini tanti amici.
